Opened in 1996, much of the furniture, masonry and decor were imported from Ireland. Fado even sells Irish collectibles and sponsors Atlanta's local Gaelic football team. The menu includes Irish Oak Smoked Salmon, Guinness Battered Fish and Chips, and the exotic chicken or salmon boxtys (stuffed potato pancakes). Irish breakfasts of eggs, sausage, rashers and black and white puddings are served all day. Plenty of Guinness and Harp sold on draft, as well as fine Irish whiskeys. The bar and restaurant was recently moved to a bigger and more lavish spot, angering past regulars but creating new life at the smokey old pub.

The new Fado's on Atlanta is disappointing. Although it is technically larger because it's stacked up on 3 floors, the older one seemed bigger. Also, disappointed there is no longer live music, due to it being near the library and other dwellings. And, unlike the former Fado's, which was authentic down to the stone walls in the pub, the new Fado's seemed to be a cheap knock off, especially the fake fire place that is nothing but dry wall that has the image of stones painted on it!! Did they really think we would not notice? And although nice for an ordinary bar, a roof top patio is not exactly synonymous with the Irish pub experience! And $5.79 is WAY TOO MUCH for a Guinness! Food was good, though. I won't be going back, however.
I have been three times to Fado's. I promise you I will be back. The place itself is incredible. The food was delicious. The bartender, Jen was awesome. And that was our first visit.
The second time was St. Patricks Day. Oh WOW.....the band the first night was great and Jackyl the next morning was excellent too. We could not have had any more fun.
The third time was lunch on the patio.....so great. Food was excellent.....atmosphere still incredible.
Gotta go back....sooon too Saturday.
