Please do NOT use equifax. I used them and cancelled my subscription in September of 2011. Two weeks ago, January 2012, my girlfriend saw that Equifax was STILL charging me. I think I'm going to report them to the better business bureau.
Recently found an erroneous charge made by Equifax as a debit from my bank account. I contacted the company unsuccessfully through the website and via the 888 and 866 numbers listed. All consumers take warning: If you have a dispute with Equifax, the consumer must look for Equifax Capital Management located in Atlanta, GA-- however, the challenges for helpful service still remain. I believe I may have been transferred out of the country to speak with a customer service representative named "Steve."
Equifax reported no known record for the charges made by their company to my personal bank account regardless of the information provided. They only confirmed that I was not one of their customers (thank God and Heaven above) -- which apparently the point I was making was completely missed.
I am suspect that perhaps there may be less than honorable individuals working within their organization that are making erroneous charges to accounts. When I asked this, their customer service representative stated he could not acknowledge any charges, dates, etc. regardless of the details (time, date, and account numbers) I provided. And, that no one in their organization would do that. I was doubtful, and stated such. My question remains -- how did the charge occur and where did Equifax obtain my personal banking information and access?
If they cannot keep track of their own records perhaps they should not be entrusted to keep track of something as sensitive as credit reports of thousands. In the meantime, they are unable to reverse the amount made to my personal account, and was told to further pursue with my bank.
Buyers and consumers beware of Equifax!!
