User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsSeats Not Necessary: Saw Eric Johnson in January (he was fabulous) however ended up standing for 4 hours including the wait to get in. As soon as the show started everyone stood up because the standing room only section in the front blocked the view of the seats in front causing a chain reaction of everyone standing for basically the whole show. If they are going to set it up this way just get rid of all the seats.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGREAT venue: This is one of my favorite spots in Atlanta to see musicians perform..The first act I saw there was PROJECT/OBJECT, and I fell in love with the place.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsFavorite Concert Venue: Variety Playhouse--Atlanta. Probably only holds 1500 at best and that's how I like it. Good acoustics, excellent acts, no hassles. I've seen probably 15 or so shows there. Patti Smith, Taj Mahal, Ryan Adams, Son Volt, Jay Farrar, Paul Westerberg, Steve Earle, Robert Earl Keen to name several. Seeing Shawn Mullins and possibly Rhett Miller there in April.
