| About: | This Buckhead steakhouse has been named the Best Restaurant in the United States by the Robb Report. Where Atlanta dubbed Ruth's Chris, "Atlanta's Most Memorable Meal," and the elegant, clubbish feel of the bar and dining room is part of the reason. High ceilings, dim light, and impeccable service create a decadent dining experience. The beef is expensive and worth it, from the tender filet mignon to the dazzling porterhouse. Great sides and sinfully chocolate desserts come in servings large enough to share, and should also be sampled. Full bar. I went to this restaurant the first time very skeptical because I am not a big fan steak. However; my meal was pretty good. The waitress was very courteous and friendly, advising us on what to expect being that it was our first time there. The atmosphere was very romantic. I liked it.
Now the second time I went which was a week later for my b-day, I ordered the same exact meal that I'd ordered the first time and was a little bit disappointed. I got bit up by mosquitoes and we were not outside and the food served was not as appetizing as the first. Which is why I give them 4 stars. Maybe they were just having a bad night.
I hate to say it, but I was very disappointed. I took my boyfriend to the Downtown location last week for his birthday and was less that impressed. The restaurant advertises its self as an upscale establishment but many customers were dressed in shorts, tee shirts and blue jeans. It was also very loud, not at all romantic as I had hoped. The steaks came out as ordered but continued to cook on the plate (steaks are served on 300 degree plates)so before we had finished eating our steaks were over cooked. Our server was extremely polite but slow. Maybe the other locations are better but I probably won't be back. The best steak I've had in Atlanta is Stoney River. The food, service, and atmosphere is much better and it's priced about the same.
Excellent service, steak was properly cooked. Vegetables were a little dry.
