The food comes out very slow, but it was worth it. I liked everything I had. The service was good.
I grew up in Atlanta on MLKING Jr Drive which was once known as OLD HUNTER STREET, where the orginal Paschal's Restaurant was located. And if you did not grow in the south with cooking just like this you missed a treat. Fast food Chicken is okay but to have tasted food cooked with LOVE was the joy of the South. Therefore Paschal's is always a place I will visit everytime I go home. The food is wonderful and my favorites are Fried Chicken, Collard Greens, Mac and Cheese, and Sweet Potato Pie. Both the Paschals Brothers were good friends to my grandfather the Late Rev. B J Johnson Sr and my Great Uncle the Late Dr. Thomas A Dorsey. And yes I miss the food since I now live in Pittsburgh Pa. To be truthful you have to love the south to taste the south. Even when I am just traveling through the Airport I have to get a dinner from Paschal's in the Airport. But to be honest it was food like this that created my love for vegetables. Dishes like Squash Casserole, Turnip Greens, Glazed Carrots, Rutabagas, Candied Yams, Mac and Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Blackeye Peas, Lima Beans, Turnips, Mustard are the ones that I firsted enjoyed at Paschals. So to say the least when I travel to Atlanta in June with my Church Choir this will be one of our stops.
Greasy, and overcooked. Not worth a trip around the corner. Any Popeye's chicken is better and any Cracker Barrel is better.

I am not sure where luckysnap1 ate but it could't have been Pashcal's. It is one of my favotire places to go and take out of town guest. I have never encountered "greasy overcooked food." That's the reason I enjoy the restaurant so much because their food isn't greasy or overcooked. I was there a week ago for Sunday brunch, one of my favorite times to go and It was absolutely delicious as usual.
