| About: | Hanging tough at its original location downtown, the Busy Bee is a hometown favorite for no-nonsense, down-home cooking. The locals outnumber tourists, a telling indicator of the Busy Bee's style. Red faux-leather booths line one wall, opposed by an old-time diner-style counter with red faux-leather-topped stools. No fancy "New Southern" pretenses here, just bona fide Dixie standbys like fried chicken, oxtails, smothered pork chops, fresh fried corn, greens, and candied yams. The marriage of soul food and Southern tradition is a happy one, and it comes pretty cheap, too. |

The food here is awesome I've been going to Busy Bee since I first came to ATL in 1993 to attend college. The best part is the food is always consistantly good. I love the waitress Shela sister is a mess!!I haven't tasted another sould food place in the ATL that can touch them. I do miss Sylvia's downtown Atlanta though the chicken and dressing was amazing
Don't expect too much from a restaurant that can house only 30 people, if that, spaciously. But do know, YOU WILL NEVER EAT A BETTER MEAL UNLESS YOUR GRANDMOTHER COOKS IT OR YOU GO TO AMY RUTH'S IN HARLEM!!! The food and price for your money is extrmely extraordinary! The food is served with class and if you have to wait, you will not regret it. After ordering from Busy Bee while attending Clark for a year, I ordered over 20 meals there, dining in and out and not once was I disappointed. Not to mention the fact that, the food is served quickly, even if you eat with more than one person. Wait time is usuallyy 20 minutes or less. Don't expect management to need to come to your table as the staff are highly competent and don't dissapoint!
" As good as Chef Winston"s Collard Green": small but very busy restuarant in downtown Atlanta , the soul food is off the hook, reminds me of the West side off Chicago in the Summer!!!!!.GET there early , It's a long wait for a table , bee parapared ( its worth every second) Great oxtails & rice . Good fried fish, Surpberb turkey dressing and collord greens ( as good as chef Winston's ).Reminds me of a greasy spoon from Chicago's West side!!!!!!!!!! its Wonderful
