Woodfire Grill is such a unique restaurant with an equally unique menu. All the food we tried was very, very good and their wine selection is excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere makes for a very enjoyable "night out". We will certainly go to Woodfire again.
I've been all over Atlanta searching for a restaurant that will make Atlantans say, "Wow." And I believe I've found it. Woodfire Grill, or "Woodfire" to the regulars, is a place like no other. Woodfire went through an ownership change in the last half of 2008 and has since gone through some modest decor changes. All of these changes were for the better. I tried Woodfire after the ownership changed and was pleasently surprised by the changes incorporated by the two new owners. I've since been back this year, more than 4 times, and am consistently blown away by the menu, wine, service, and atmosphere. It just keeps getting better. An intimate night out, parties of friends, and business dinners are all welcome in one of the best, if not the best, restaurant in Atlanta.
Hands down, our dinner at Woodfire for my birthday was one of the best meals of my life.
My husband and I went and splurged - doing the 5-course chef's tasting with wine pairings. The entire experience was amazing. Proprieters Nick and Bernard pride themselves in taking their diners on a culinary adventure, and that they did! We had no idea what food would come out next, and every single new course was creative, fresh, surprising and delicious! Nick brought us the wine pairings, which were all excellent selections.
We were there for 4 hours - enjoying the ambience, the food and the wonderful journey.
It is clear that this restaurant takes food and dining seriously, and that their greatest joy is for their patrons to have a transformative experience.
I can't recommend it highly enough. GO.
