Please please please don't EVER take your vehicle to Jim Ellis Chevrolet! I took my vehicle there for a routine oil change and within two days all of the oil in my car ran out in my parking garage. Turns out, they didn't tighten the oil plug enough. As a result, I had to miss work and had to deal with a tow truck company who took over two hours to get to my house. I was offered a free oil change for my inconvenience. I don't plan on taking my vehicle to them ever again for ANYTHING! Please do NOT take your car to them. They will surely do a horrible job!
Excellet customer service. From the buying experience to service, we have had nothing but positive. I am on our second Trailblazer. and a Blazer before those two. Jim Ellis is a name we trust like family.
Terrible, never again I am taking my car to a dealership; absolute rip off; I got taken to the bank. $1200 later I had the same problem with my car. After having several mechanics take a look at an engine stall problem on a '99 Cavalier I decided to take it in to Chevrolet dealership, knowing that I may fork out more to have the repair done however under the assumption that the problem would have been rectified. I was wrong. I should have fixed the problem myself from day one.
The GM dealership was quick to notify me that the A/C compressor had siezed (supposedly) and was causing the stalling issue. The A/C compressor was one of a handful of issues I had suspected but not the first, I figured that since they 'diagnosed' the problem with their scanners that it could have been the culprit. THEY WERE WRONG!!!! When I went to pick up my car I drove 200' from the dealership and bam, the car stalled again. I immediately took the car back and questioned whether or not they were certain it was the A/C compressor; I was told they were absolutely sure. Obviously not as I was able to stall the vehicle right in front of the manager. I left the car for another day only to find out that their 'diagnosis' was incorrect. Their new diagnosis was that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced, for another $1200 but I would get a 'deal' since there diagnosis was incorrect the first time. Should I have confidence in their service center? Absolutely not. I have done work on my car before and I know it can be a handful of things, however their diganosis was obviously not thorough enough. I've said it before and i'll say it again, I am never taking my vehicle to a dealer for whatever reason (not the brightest idea on my end). If you must take it into a dealer (and it's not covered under warranty) be sure that you have some idea of the problem at hand, do not put your vehicle in their hands.
The diffuclty with electronics and their scanners is that they are quick to accept whatever the computer spits back at them (the pitful of not having 'thorough' mechanics).
Oh, my compensation was a free oil change. Thanks, but no thanks.
