Excellent Food in the Middle of Nowhere: So, if you ask the man on the street in the Middle of Nowhere, Georgia, where he would take his wife for her birthday, and he would name this restaurant. If you aren't from around here, you might need to fly in on radar, especially if it's dark out. There is a large sign on Route 56, but it's not well lighted.
My crabcakes were very good. It came with a choice of salad or cole slaw, and I chose the former, albeit with trepidation. I was delightfully surprised to see it was made from actual lettuces other than iceberg. The Ranch dressing, which was made in-house ... was actually mislabeled blue cheese, but I was able to live with that. We were again faced with a restaurant that had a function going on in the back dining room, but this time the servers kept us informed better (than, say, at another area restaurant) and, if worse came to worse, we could have survived on the large bowl of tartar sauce and the butter the preceded our entrees. The seafood could be prepared in methods other than deep frying. The hushpuppies were light, but I thought they were oily. Of the sides that came with the meals, I had cheese grits and they were delectable.
Beer and wine is available. You order, oddly enough, as you enter, but otherwise receive standard table service.
