Before heading to Helen, GA, this restaurant was highly recommended to my husband and me through family members who raved about their delicious Margaritas. Sorry to say my experience at La Cabana was horrible. Located in an area that is heavily visited by tourist, they appeared to be unorganized, understaffed, and inexperienced. They were very rude and somewhat unapproachable. We agreed to wait as an outdoor table would be cleared, that took 20 minutes. After sitting and waiting for another 45 minutes, we were asked what we would like to drink at this point we had not been offered a menu or silverware. Our drinks were brought out, which I must say that my strawberry Margaritas was horrible. We sat for another 45 minutes and realized that guests that arrived after us were having their entrees while I sat still waiting on a glass of water.
I asked to speak to a manager, that request was completely ignored and was shoved off to the side. I approached the manager directly to and explained that my husband and I had been waiting for a little over an hour and a half and have not had our order taken yet. The manager then asks me if I would like someone to take my order, as I stood there he had the audacity to say "Ms I am too busy I don't have time for this". Needless to say my husband and I walked away.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I have no idea what their food tastes like, but their customer service is probably the worst I have ever experienced. If you are someone who loves great customer service I would not recommend La Cabana to you. Even with patience the lack of respect is liable to infuriate anyone. -

I have lived in Helen my whole life and LOVE this place. The staff is always very friendly and the food is always great. They have two locations; one in downtown Helen and one a short walk or drive away. I would recommend this place to everybody who likes Mexican food!
