We go to Miss Meg's almost EVERY weekend for breakfast, but they also have the best crabcakes in the mountains that we've found since moving here from Maryland! Go there. You won't be disappointed!
Found this place by accident on my way back from North Carolina. Now I make a couple of one hour and twenty minute drives a year just to have breakfast there. Owners and employees are always pleasant. Best breakfast food I've ever had. Bisquit gravy has chunks of sauguage and biscuits are awesome. My favorite is the french toast. Heck...it's all good. Just go there.
Every trip to Miss Megs is a taste treat. How is it that chain restaurants can get it so wrong - and this small town cafe can get it so right. Fresh ground beef - tastes like it SHOULD. Fresh veggies, crisp tasty fries - and they make their own buns! Friendly folks.
You know the scene in the Disney Movie Ratatouille where the critic takes a bite out of a mundane dish and is instantly whisked back to an emotional moment in his childhood when his mom had made his favorite dish ? This place creates those moments for me. I hate to say this in case they read these reviews ... but compared to what other area restaurants charge for less tasty fare ... Miss Megs could get away with charging more for these undiscovered burger treats.
