Great place to stay!...: Great place to stay! Me and my wife loved the stay. I'm highly suggesting their food at Melting Point. They have signsture burgers, tuna, salmon, steak, and seafood. Also, we've had breakfast at the Hoyt House. Great food and service. Thank you Foundry staff, we'll be back!
Best place to stay, period, in Athens. We used to frequent the Hilton Garden but they are completely non-smoking which is not accomodating to everyone including me. The Foundry has smoking rooms, no they do not smell smoked in as most hotels do, with the most comfy beds! I'm a waterbed fanatic and have trouble with regular beds but this one I slept in all night long. I'll need to check out the brand of matress on my next visit. Our room was very, very spacious and it was just one of the king rooms. Dining and entertainment are located on the premises so no needing a designated driver! Hooray! Next time I would like to stay for 2 nights to get my fill of the spa. No time this trip. The only minuses were quite limited parking especially when there is a wedding and the room fridge was too small as we couldn't fit all of our beer in it. Otherwise, 5 star all the way!
The rooms are not very big, but they are comfortable and the beds are among the best I've had in a hotel of this calibre.
The grounds are a short walk to downtown, but there is plenty to do right there. Hoyt House no longer serves dinner as of this review, but the Melting point has passable bar food and usually some great music.
The staff is excellent.
