The best food in Watkinsville! I have been to most restaurants in Watkinsville and Athens and Maison Bleu is one of my favorites. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the food is outstanding, My guess is you won't be disappointed. Bon appetit!
We were very surprised and pleased. After reading an article in Southern Living we decided to give it a try.We were treated graciously and asked questions , and even required special dietary needs, all met with "of course you can do that."Though the staff appears to be mostly college age, they go the distance. They even asked for temperatures on all the meats. The filet was right on, scallops huge and meaty, soup great,1/2 chicken had no bones to fuss with, and the catch had great flavor. Desserts were yummy. We need to try their lunch menu. And their cappucinos and lattes really finished us off. It was a bit busy, but we weren't "rushed" and it was nice to have parking so close. And they had a decent wine list.
Well, haven't been here in a long while. Probably won't be back for a while. Took my husband here last night for his birthday. First the service was great! The food was in need of help for the most part. He had the Sauteed Escargot the flavor very good but they were almost over cooked to the chewie point, my app. was excellent Mushroom strudel, highly recommend. The Masison Bleu salad was excellent, he had the house salad very good. For the main course he had the Duo of Grilled Petite Filet and prime short rib with buttermilk potao puree. He liked this. I had the Pecan Crusted Pork Tenderloin Way over cooked and was extremly dry. The Mango Chutney was good and had flavor, the potato puree very bland with on taste. Now for desert - he had the Strawberry Balsamic sorbet great flavor could have used just a touch of Very good balsamic drizzled over it for excellent finish. I had thier chocolate chip bread-pudding very moist , but NO flavor , the burbon sauce was watery and NO falvor - I wish that I had tried the Pear Rosemary sorbet.
