Wonderful food.
Quirky building only adds to the experience. A really great place to surprise friends.
Chef Herb Ballenger never fails to delight with his interpretations of a broad variety of culinary delights. Our latest treat consisted of Spring Rolls (substituting Sushi-grade rice for the noodles is a nice touch, and the Peanut sauce was perfectly done), Chicken Lasagna (simple, delicious), and Shepherds Pie (never before have we known so many layers of flavor in such a usually basic dish; a far cry from just mashed potatoes and roast beef).
Being able to brown bag is a definite plus, and no "corking fee" is nice.
The open fireplace out back gives the perfect spot to linger and reminisce about your meal prior to getting back in the car and heading out.
It's a rare pleasure in this part of the country to enjoy the fruits of a true artisan. Especially for the price of around $25.00 per seat.
I wonder what he's in the mood to cook next weekend?
Simply amazing! Chef Herb Ballenger always manages to create fantastic special entrees. It's always something different. If, by some strange chance, the specials aren't to your liking, he has wonderful regular dishes, such as his pizzas, calzones, pastas, and marinated ribeye steaks, all of which are superb! I can't praise Ballenger's enough! Go!
No alcohol is served, but you can brown bag, which I prefer, anyway. You don't pay inflated prices and can bring whatever you want!
