User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI needed to travel to Waynesboro to meet with someone over lunch. Having not ever been to Waynesboro, I searched online for a restaurant there. I didn't want the everyday kind of place. Based on (1) the reviews here and (2) the picture on Google Street View, I suggested Taylor's Barbecue. I made the right choice. We needed to occupy a table for 3 hours -- no problem. The food was reasonably priced ($6.40 for the lunch special and $8.50 or so for the rib plate), came in satisfying portions, and was good southern cooking -- even had cornbread griddle cakes. The staff was friendly and helpful -- the dining room attendant was attentive but not hovering. It's not a fancy place, but I would recommend it. Directions on Google Maps seem to be outdated -- looking at the satellite image, it appears that actual road configuration has changed since the last time Google Maps was updated. Mapquest seems to be no better. That's not the fault of Taylor's BBQ. If you have a reason to eat lunch (or supper) near Waynesboro, Taylor's would be a good choice.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsStuffed Down to Our Socks: The ordering process might be a bit confusing for the neophyte (the help kindly explained it all), but you get plenty of food and it was all good. Next time only half of us will order food, because it darn near killed us to eat half of what we had.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsHomestyle Cooking for sure.: There's nothing better then home cooking, and it can be found at Taylors. A selection of Ribs, Chicken, Pork, and Smoked sausage. I personally had the chopped pork, and it was just like dad use to make it. The BBQ sauce was on point. Candice gives 5 stars to the Turnip Greens, and my niece Narissa says "the ribs were smokin". The place itself, is in a small house with diner tables. Somewhat out of the 50's, but southern to the max. Real hospitality, and yes they take VISA, and MC. If your hungry, and your around this way, you got to grab a plate, and enjoy.
