My parents visited me and the wife in Augusta the other weekend and I decided to take them to Sconyers. I totally love the atmosphere at this place. Everyone is friendly, and it feels like you've traveled back in time when you walk in the door. Not to mention they're pretty quick at getting you a table in contrast to some of the restaurants on Wheeler Road who get packed quickly during weekend nights. I didn't enjoy their hash, but then some of my friends loved it, so i guess it's an acquired taste. surprisingly, my father had eaten at sconyers almost 50 years ago, that's how long the place has been around. however, he said he remembered it being in a different location. when we asked the manager about the history of sconyers, they told us it used to be located down the hill where the applebees sits at and a while back they moved it to the top of the hill. the place has been around for almost 60 years for anyone that was wondering.

but anyways, if you've never been there, you're going to get way more food than you were expecting based on the prices in the menu. i can't think of anyone that has eaten there without taking home a carryout tray. enough said; i would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good BBQ in Augusta

Mega portions fill you up at a fair price! Good bar b que and the sauce is excellent. Highly recommended for a casual meal. Atmosphere upstairs was lacking. The bus boy rolling the dish cart around is really tacky. Just carry the plates away, people. Sit downstairs and get the pork plate. Good slaw. Oh, and how about some better bread? The slices of white bread in a bag are just bad even if it is a tradition.

Great BBQ always lea...: Great BBQ always leave full and satisfied. Good portion to price ratio.
