El Real Mexican Restaurant

I've been going to this restaurant since it opened. The previous reviewer said something about hoping the quality doesn't go down, but he has nothing to worry about, I go there a couple of times a week, and like any restaurant, some nights are slightly better than others, but the consistency of the food and service at El Real is way better than any other in SE Georgia. I know for a fact that many restaurants in the Savannah area, not just Mexican, have learned a great lesson from these people about customer service and genuine friendliness. They are good people, good family, hard workers and the food is incredible.
It helps to know what to order, so here are a couple of suggestions. Pollo Del Mar. It's chicken and shrimp that comes smoking hot on a skillet, with all the vegetables cooked with it to season, and as soon as you get it, pour salsa on it and stir so it doesn't scorch because it's real hot. Make sure you ask for grated white cheese and sprinkle that on top and let it melt and stir. You won't believe your tongue!
Los Diablos. (My wife's favorite) Jumbo shrimp stuffed with jalapeno peppers, on a skillet, and I think it comes with vegetables, etc. You usually get refried beans and rice too.
Seafood al Vapor. (It means steamed fish and shrimp) It's tilapia and shrimp that comes in a big tinfoil football, steamed with onions and all the spices and tomatoes, etc, and it's amazing too, you won't regret it.
So don't just order a burrito or all that taco bell nonsense, try out signature dishes and you will become a huge fan. The service is fast and friendly and the food is quite reasonable, and you always get chips and salsa with it.

My Wife and I go to this establishment on a pretty regular bases. Javier and the crew is always very pleasant when we come in. The food has always been very Great and the service has always been Good to Great. My wife has been a little on the upset side lately, seems they might have changed the cooks. The food is slacking a little compared to before. I am not sure what is going on but I sure hope they get it worked out soon. They used to have the absolutely best Mexican in town. I don't want to see the Food or the Service or the Friendliness go down the drain due to the cook.

Just recently, last week, I was visiting with my son and Family, and we dinned at this restaurant..and had a wonderful experience!! We also took along some friends of his, their first time experience at a mexican Restaurant/Mexican food. The food was fantastic! Authentic Mexican food!!The quality of the food, service,atmosphere, and overall was superb!! We all really loved it, and would recommend it to anyone!! We also Will be returning!! Thank You El Real!! You were Great!!
