Really excellent food, but only ok service. Been there 3 times, always had great food but never had great service. If you are on a budget, this may be a bit pricy for you.

My husband and I are not the sort to dine formally often. In fact it is a rare occassion for us. But this Valentine's Day we opted to do something different and find a place with more to offer than your standard steakhouse or commercial dining chain. We decided this on Valentine's morning, so you can imagine the luck we had calling for reservations at many of the larger restaurants in town. I called Michael's quite early in the morning and Michael himself answered the phone which quite impressed me. There happened to be one reservation left.
We arrived a little early and bid our time at the bar. The drinks were perfectly mixed and the atmosphere inside the building is very cozy. It was easy to relax and converse. We did not have to wait long before our table was ready. We ordered a nacho appetizer. It was a shrimp nacho and was absolutely delicious. Just the right portion size also. We were served bread and a pesto butter with sundried tomatos. I have never had anything like it. Our meals were most flavorful and were an accomodating size. We both took home leftovers. But we couldn't help but order desert anyway. We had a turtle creme pie and it was also perfect. Not too sweet at all. It was an amazing evening and I personally recommend Michael's on Mulberry to anyone trying to find a new place to dine. The price is what I would expect from a fine dining restaurant also.
