This is the best seafood resturant in town! Food is awesome & so is the service! Everytime we have company visit from out of town we take them there. The big hole in the center of the table is fantastic for dumping everything right there & so convienent. That is a big plus when you are eating seafood. This resturant is easy to get to also, it's right off I-95.
They do have alternatives if one of your party members are allergic to seafood so don't worry about that. And they have kids menu too!

my family and i are new to the area and asked our new neighbors where to go for really great seafood and they suggested the shellhouse. we were in aw at all the cars with tags from the surrounding counties and chatham, and knew that this must be the place for locals. we were greeted by the hostess and seated by the pond. there was a hole in the middle of the table and i did not take long to figure out why. we ordered crab legs ,steak and fried shrimp,snowcrab and boiled shrimp combo and fried shrimp and fried oyster combo. can you say unreal, the food was prepared perfect and the freshness unbelievable. the portions were huge and the price was very fair. everything from the main entree to the sides were wonderful and the red rice was a side item was the best in the world. the staff was very good and the manager although very busy stopped by the table to chat and check on us more than once. after eating what seemed to be a mountain of food ,we ordered the homemade peach cobbler. this dessert was incredible. thank you shellhouse for the wonderful meal and i see why ya'll have been doing business for over 20 years. see ya'll soon . if you want great seafood and great service while getting more bang for your buck then this is the place for you. on the weekends get there early as the place fills up quickly.

Have not visited in nearly 1 year. It is obvious this place has changed to a tourist trap versus where the locals (like me) eat. The portions were much smaller than I remembered (smaller styrofoam plates). The value for what you get was horrible. The service was still excellent. Any visitor would get better value and better/fresher food from Love's Seafood in Richmond Hill or any of the local CPT Joe's.
