    Carey Hilliards in my opinion is nothing to write home about. The food is mostly fried, and their selection isn't the best. Now you will expect 'down home southern cooking' but if that means fried, then that is all you'll get. I had the fried chicken which was good, but honestly, one visit was enough for me. I really miss Bob Evans, and thought this would be similar. This isn't a place I'd recommend visitors.

    Best Southern Food Around: I have been eating at Carey Hilliard's for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. I have had the seafood, chicken, steak and barbeque. The staff is always friendly and very courteous. You get a lot of food for your money as well. It is my mother's favorite place to eat in Savannah.
