I had Chicken Fried Steak and while it was tough, the crust was very good, gravy was ok. I love CFS and this rated below avg. Sides? Corn was tinny as it's canned, skip that. Order 2 sides of red beans n rice. It was wonderful and saved the meal as well as the cornbread (very good). Service was ok, she checked in a normal. Wife had the shrimp dish, fried I think. She said it was very good, and she is a dedicated shrimp eater. Overall experience for the price was not worth it. Tourist restaurant I'd say. Disappointed in their very limited seafood offerings.
Excellent sweet tea! The pumpkin bread was absolutely heavenly, and the crab cake sandwich was tasty. The blackened chicken sandwich was great, but the fries were rather tasteless.
Crowded and noisy at lunch time, but that is because they have some of the best seafood on the island. I ordered the Costal Platter, which is a great sampler of shrimp, crab cake and cod fillet with two veggies. $23. My wife ordered the Big Salad with Shrimp â excellent $11. She loved the pumpkin bread (as did I). On the downside: the servers clear the tables and toss the dishes just inside the kitchenâs swinging doors. The clashing plates echos through the small dining area grates on oneâs nerves. When I checked out the lunch bill (1 ice tea) = $39 + $6 tip for two. My rating: on a 1 to 10, Food, a solid 8+, service a week 6 and ambience .... well 4. Over all I would go back for the food and request a table away from the kitchen
