I thoroughly enjoyed this quaint little restaurant in downtown Thomasville. After reading one of the reviews I was surprised to find the European brunch delicious. I had the croque madame (better than some I'd had in France) & orange juice. My server seemed very comfortable & gracious. I had asked her about the review I had read on Liam's service & was reassured that she cared much for her guests but as often in these types of restaurants, servers can be snotty & harsh. Liam's staff said they want people to feel like a guest in their "home." All in all I had a relaxed brunch, read a book & was not pushed out the door for a waiting table. How refreshing. . .I'll be back!

My husband and I went there this past Saturday - our first visit. We liked the ambience, but were gravely disappointed in the food. The croque monsieur was soggy, which is inexcusable, and barely had any gruyere.

The quiche had fine taste, but was really a pan fritata, as it had no crust. While they obviously care about food quality and freshness, the preparation was either entirely wrong or at best, unexpected. The service was friendly but VERY lax, as our waitress never once came by to ask us if we wanted anything more or refilled the hot water for hot tea. Based just on this experience, I'd never give it another try.

We went for dinner. We found the atmosphere and decor to be perfect: the lighting was such as to compliment our meal rather than overpower it, and was definitely not too dark, the walls were roughly perfect (a seeming oxymoron, but you'll see), with plenty of pictures of the owners, staff and patrons, intermingled with some lovely artwork.
The selection of cheeses is amazing. You must begin with a trio of cheese and Rhonda will not only help you select the perfect ones, but also explain every bit of important information about each.
Our dinner was served with a fantastic (yet not overdone) presentation, a delicious flavor, and was timed perfectly. We had time to enjoy our cheese, wine, salad, without feeling the slightest bit rushed.

The only thing I would improve on is the service. While it was nice to feel comfortable amidst a fine restaurant, our server came across almost lackadaisical. I don't believe that was her intent by any means. However, it's those small touches that perfect service without being overbearing: serving the lady first, never reaching across a guest, a server introduction, being nearby without hovering, and finishing the entire service to the end. So, I would rate the service as alright, but with noticeable faults. We tipped a standard 18%, but would normally tip 20-25% for this type of restaurant.

We will definitely go back again, however, and will bring our friends. Next time, we'd love to try the desserts! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a very well prepared meal from someone who knows how to make food taste and look incredible...you will absolutely melt from the combination of flavors!
