I can't stand bank of america... I've used them for three years and am trying to find a new bank that will work while I'm still here and has a location where I'm about to move. I can't even express my frustration with them. For one, they wouldn't let me write checks of over $150 dollars out of my checking account, when I had been writing checks about that size every month for years and I had over $3,000 in my checking account.
This company has found a way to ring every dime out of its customers. As a sample..
If you have a direct deposit on a friday at 12:00 midnight and you swip a debt card at 11:45 its an overdraft. If you 500.00 and have a 100.00 check a another 100.00 on a monday and for what ever reason you do a 501.00 check on a friday. They will overdraft the 501.00 first then over draft the two 100.00's even though they were 4 days before instead of clearing the two 100.00 and overdrafting only the last 501.00 so you have three fees instead of one. I asked why, the man said well we assume that you will want the big one paid first...lol So, instead of wanting the first checks cleared and overdraft of 35.00 on the last one(highest fee I have ever heard of) they assume I want to have 105.00 dollars in fees. I said well I dont please pay the two small ones I did a week ago and Ill just pay the 35.00 he said they cant do that...."its not the way Bank of America does things"
I asked how they could do that and I was told that a YEAR AGO they sent a letter saying that they were "thinking" about changing "some" policies on the way they charge for overdrafts and this year they sent on the statement a small line on the statement that said they change "some" policies and if you want to know what they are you have to go to the branch and ask for a sheet that list them. I asked how many and they said it was just that one. How bad is that from one of the countries oldest banks.
