Fantasy in Lights is amazing. It will make a kid out of you again.
The food was wonderful and there is so much to do.
A great weekend getaway.
My husband and I planned a trip to go to Callaway Gardens and purchased the Fantasy in Lights Package. I called a few weeks prior to the trip and spoke with an operator. We stayed at the Mountain Creek Inn. I asked if there were any king size beds available for the night that we would be staying and was told that there were. I made reservations, wrote down my reservation number. When we arrived on Dec. 9, 2007 I was told that they do not make reservations for king size beds. I was asked "Who did you speak with?" My reply was , 'I'm sorry, I travel a great deal and simply thought that my reservation confirmed all of this."
We ended up with two double beds. The room smelled strongly of Clorox. Bathroom was cramped. Room was adequate and clean. We bought the fantasy in lights package. We chose the "Silver Trolley". Please don't waste your money on the "trolley". There is a huge sheet of plexi glass in the front of each trolley that makes vision difficult. You could only see clearly from the side. Use your car, clean your window shield and side windows. The lights are truly lovely, but the trolley ride is not what I thought it would be. Come early if you are planning on taking your car, it is very, very crowded.
Wasn't what I thought it would be: I have been planning for a couple of months to go to Callaway Gardens with my 2 year old daughter. Mainly for the butterfly center. She loves butterflies. Well, I went this past monday the 11th of may, and I was speechless. I thought the butterfly dome would be bigger than it was. I also thought there would be more butterflies flying around that might would land on my daughters hand or shirt, just to get a picture of her face if it happened. Well, there were only about 30 butterflies in the whole building and I didn't see any hatching, like they said we would either. There needs to be more butterflies, because your web site was very misleading.
