I have been shopping at Westers for about 10 years. I love the people who work there and the meat is the highest quailty. I tell eveyone who will listen about the shop. I have heard from some and read reviews regarding the "odor" and I think people need to understand that Westers is a meat shop and butchery. You cant smell the meat at the big stores because they do not process much of it on site and they hide it from you. At Westers they are cutting their meats to order just feet away from the cash register. It's as fresh at it gets and you can have your meat custom cut to your needs. Fish markets smell like fish, meat markets should smell like meat, and bone, its a fact. I only pray they never go away or I might have to give up meat all together! Try them, trust me, they are wonderful!

My wife and I visited Westers on 5/19/2008 and bought their special of 2 bacon wrapped fillets/1 pound of shrimp/2 baked potatoes. The meat was so strong tasting we couldn't eat it and the shrimp were mealy. We went back the next day to tell them but the shop smelled so badly that we couldn't stay after 5 minutes of not being noticed. It was definitely a bad experience for us.
