User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI was so disappointed the service was horrible, at least to me. I saw the sales clerk smiling and being polite to other customers I guess the fact that I only spent $8.00 on some very small pieces of candy wasnât enough for them. If the candy was above average I would have been okay with the rudeness, but I canât say it was worth writing home about. This was my first trip to St Augustine and everyone told me to go Claudeâs but I can tell you I wonât ever go back.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsTHE BEST!: This chocolate is so wonderful! Better than the other chocolate factories in town, hands down! Nicole is very helpful and obviously very proud of her husbands chocolates. Worth every penny!

Best thing this side of Belgium!: My family and I visited in January of 06. The entrance is down a tiny street in the old town, not far from the bay. There is no sign; just a blackboard on a tripod. This day it advertised hot chocolate.
We piled in, all seven of us, nearly filling the tiny store room. Two cafe tables had almost enough chairs for all of us.
The propreitress was friendly; giving my older children chocolate-on-a-stick. We asked if the chocolate was true hot chocolate; melted chocolate and sugar mixed with hot cream, and it was! She even split a large one for my kids into kid-sized mugs. It was just about as good as anything you'd get in Paris. We wish we'd known she offered it spiced with chilis, as in the Aztec empire.
She allowed us to sample some of her made-daily hand-made chocolates. Heavenly, dreamy; my mother and I each bought a 20 piece box. Flavors like Mayan, cinnamon praline, mango, and pistachio as well as the more usual varieties. The incredible texture is because it's FRESH, unlike 99.9% of the chocolate available in the US.
Claude's will be a part of our family's trips to St. Augustine as long as it exists!
