IN SEARCH OF -- NEW CDs in DAYTONA BEACH -- I had wonderful service at the Fye's in Orlando, so I thought it would be just as great here at the Fye's in the Volusia Mall.

Not the case... Upon presenting my CD to the clerk at the checkout, I was heavily pressured into purchasing a $25 Fye's discount membership card. I told the clerk "No," then was bombarded with one of the highest pressure sales I've ever experienced in my life. Usually, I would simply walk out at this point, but I really wanted this CD. I finally closed my eyes and said, "No," firmly, then repeated myself several times as he persisted, hoping it would eventually sink in.

To my surprise, the clerk then began berating me, accusing me of yelling at him, and said he hadn't turned down his hearing aid . (I don't think he actually had one.) As he talked, he looked at me with piercing eyes as if he were about to pull out a gun and shoot me. He finally began to ring me up.

By this point, I was not a happy camper. I left. I found the same CD at Walmart for nearly half the price and decided I'll never return to this particular location of Fye at the Volusia mall.

Having once owned a business myself, I understand that even the best of companies can end up with psycho employees. The only bad thing is, I think this was the manager. The last time someone creeped me out this badly, he was later arrested for attempting to bomb an airport - no kidding!

But seriously, if you get bad service, walk out.
