First visit! Food, Atmosphere & service -- ALL AWESOME, EXCELLENT, OUTSTANDING, MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!
Jason -- Great Job! Very polite, made sure everything was satisfactory. Will definitely be back and will recommend to others.
The most WONDERFUL FOOD! Not some place to just grab a quick bite. My husband and I went there on a Saturday and Jason was our waitor. Excellent service. Everyone is dressed nice the staff is like suit and tie or business style so we felt a little out of place because we weren't dressed to go somewhere so nice but we werent treated differently. Jason bought us the amuse bouche for the night which was a tuna wrapped in avacodo which reminded me of sushi but didnt taste fishy and was extremely delicious. I had the tomato salad for the first course which was NOT what I was expecting because when I think of a salad I think of sliced tomatoes in maybe a vinagrette or italian with nice size bits of cheese but THIS was different in form but still good. My husband had the blue crab cake in like a honey sauce which was to die for! I liked that one better but both were very good. For the main course I had the salmon with smashed potatoes and veges. That was DELICIOUS. My husband had the NY strip which was everything a steak should be. Very tender. And for dessert I had the the cheesecake was melt in your mouth chew slow good and my husband had the chocolate cake with strawberry icecream. When I tasted it I was thrown off because I didnt realize it was dark chocolate but if you like dark chocolate then thats definetly the way to good. We sat at the 2 seater table in the back left hand corner closest to the bathrooms but didnt have a problem with traffic or anything. The ambience was wonderful there were candles and fresh roses on the table. We did not have reservations but when we first got there we were the only ones but it filled up very fast. The menu was slightly intimadating to me because there were a lot of choices and I'm thinking I couldnt possible eat one from each course but you don't have to. My husband and I only had 3 courses and were absolutely stuffed. We spent over $100 but it was our anniversary and the experience was worth it. We will be dining there again!
If you want a nice meal in Jax and the service to match, this is the place for you. I'm a regular at the bar for a drink and some beef tips. Now when someone says beef tips, you think some cheap bits of meat, but these are succulent, mouth watering bits of Black Angus -- think of it as a mini steak.
They have a souffle that will knock your taste buds into next week -- order in advance as it takes 20 minutes to prepare. Ask the server for a good wine paring. They've one of the best wine lists in Jax.
If you are not wanting a large meal, pair up a salad and a starter. A beet salad and some crab cakes makes a great meal when washed done with a nice glass of red wine.
Book in advance on Thus-Sat as they can get busy ... avoid the table near the back left as it is near the kitchen.
