The students got very little driving experience... Simply too many students for the amount of trucks they had. We were constantly fighting for turns so we could survive the testing. Their were a few really good instructors, but they were few and far between. You could tell some of the instructors hated working there from their terrible attitude; they would get (unbelievably, and very unprofessionally) ANGRY as we were just trying to learn.
Also, its WAY TOO EXPENSIVE..5k total..TRUST ME you can get training much, much cheaper at community colleges or basically anywhere else but here.
Job placement:They obviously get money for supplying the trucking companies. I obtained a job with a company by myself so that Roadmaster did not get any more of my hard earned money. They called and called trying to find out who I was working for so they could get their cut...You have been warned..good luck choosing a place! But you probably dont want to go here!!!
I too was a student at the school and I think the price could have been lower but other than that the school was ok.
I was hired at Werner though, and they thought I should continue driving as a team member without hometime, gaining experience or additional compensation--AFTER, I completed the required 300 plus hours behind the wheel.
Needless to say, I'm no longer workin in the trucking business. For now that is, I still have my CDL!
I was a student in this school for three weeks. It was so over crowded, that I feel there wasn't enough instructors or equipment for the students to properly train with. The equipment they had was so worn out, it was a joke. It is over priced for what was taught. It was ran like you were in the military, they treated you like they were doing you a favor instead you paying for their services. I wouldn't recomend this school to anyone. You can get the same, no better! skills taught in a technical school at one fourth the price.
