This is a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike and no reason why not. The style is casual with a pseudo-sports bar appeal with over 20 TVâs carrying multiple channels catering to news and sports. The menu is extensive and daily specials are offered. Wednesdays is âLobsterâ night and Thursday & Friday are âPrime Ribâ, for instance. Never a wait because they have a large dining space that surrounds a large bar area. Two pool tables and 5 video game machines do not detract from the family friendly atmosphere. On my last of many visits, we were greeted warmly by âSamanthaâ. She was both patient and attentive throughout the stay. She was honest about menu choices and was always available. She was keenly aware of when happy hour was to end (4-7) in order to provide drinks during that time.
At one point, a manager, Jennifer visited our table to ensure everything was going well, which it was. She also spoke to us upon our departure.
Bahamian Dolphin at $11.99 is cooked in double wrapped foil with new potatoes, tomatoes, green peppers, zucchini, lemon and a hint of Tabasco was outstanding. Grouper Oscar at $13.99 was topped with lump crab and asparagus with hollandaise which left nothing to desire. Ossobucco at $10.95 is marinated pork shank that is slow cooked and falls off the bone just to look at it, served with mashed potatoes and gravy w/ the veggie of the day. An extensive entree menu is preceded by 9 salads, 5 soups, wings and an incredible chicken nacho appetizer that appears to be for 20 ($9.99), among others are offered. Kidâs menu at $3.99. 30 beers are on tap; 24 bottles are your choice. 9 red wines and 8 white w/ 3 sparkling wines (White Star by Moet among them) to choose from; some wines by the glass at reasonable prices.
If you ask for Samantha, make sure you are not a cheap tipper because she will give you excellent service which should be recognized. This is a jewel among what Jacksonville has to be taken advantage of.
Jacksonville is known for it numerous restaurants and finding just the right one can be a difficult task, however Miller's Ale House (the name has changed) is one that you will want to put on your agenda. Servers such as Samantha will direct you to a good choice (although it is hard to made a bad one). If there were a choice not to be made it would be the Jambalaya. This is coming from one who has experienced the best in New Orleans before Katrina and no establishment outside of NOLA could do it better. If you have never been to New Orleans you probably wouldn't notice this. Aside from that, the Ale House does everything to perfection.
It is rare for a manager, such as Jennifer to come to a table and ask if everything is OK. This restaurant excels in customer satisfaction and if for any reason you are not satisfied, they will do whatever it takes to make you happy. I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant and highly recommend it.
We have gone there 3 times now, because it is soo close to the movietheater, and everytime I have had a horrible experience. I have had attrocious service, basically none. I actually had to ask a young lady to wait on us and her response was that we are not her table and that our waitress is on break. I finally convinced on of the girls there to wait on us after a 30 minute wait at a dirty table. 80% of our food order was wrong, cold and she changed our drinks to diet after the third round. we had to ask for silverware 4 times, and when I spoke to the manager he barely squeezed out a half hearted apology and sent us on our way. I will never go back nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone. I have never been soo angry or disappointed in a restaurant.
new place for me: nice plave to eat get ur drink on and watch sport.. fun family even
