The New York style pizza was awesome. I can't wait to get more. The St. Louis stlye was a first for me and was delicious but too thin for me. The salads were excellent. The fried mozzerella was a little overdone but at least it was fresh. I didn't get a chance to try the Toasted Ravioli as they were out.
nobody has really explained the basis of this restaurant. according to the chef, they wanted to have a restaurant with unique, regional foods that you otherwise can't find in jacksonville. personally, i went because i heard that they have st. louis style pizza and toasted ravioli (popular in st louis) and i found that it tastes like some of the best pizza and ravioli that i used to eat in st louis. the chef also said they had gooey butter cakes (also popular in st louis), but i was too full to try it.
however, st louis is just one of the regions featured on this menu. i also remember the menu having what i think was a kentucky brown sandwhich and new york and, i believe, chicago style pizzas. i will definitely be going back and i have already been telling people i work with about it who sound excited about it (i work with a lot of people from st louis). while i was eating, a guy came in to pick up a pizza who had just got off work and raced over from ponte vedra to get there before they closed, so apparently others think it's worth going out of their way for.
Innovative restaurants like this need to thrive in Jacksonville. Chris (the owner) is highly trained and an excellent host. They make their own fresh pasta and of course all of the ingredients are fresh and top quality.
If only their menu wasn't in 4 point font.
