I went to ACT and graduated in 2001. It was overall a good experience for me. Originally I had a hard time finding a job but once I started putting myself out there and sending my resume to places that hadn't posted they were hiring I got hired and worked there for a long time! I worked full time Per Diem and loved every minute of it. I am thankful for ACT for giving me the tools that I needed to have a career. This school is a spring board for greater things like nursing or whatever but it gets your foot in the door. Unfortunately, the Medical Assisting opportunities are saturated in this day and age but I don't think it is the schools fault. Employment is down-blame the government. Best of wishes for all!
It was a terrible disaster going to that school. I also had three official teachers. It was drama, after fight, after drama, after eruption, after drama.
God got me through that and no one else. Still looking for a job, since, as they like to tell us, they do not get you a job.
Good luck to the unfortunate souls still there.
I am 100% in agreement with you. To this day I am trying to get work in the field i went to school for. Good they I found a job doing something else or I would be up the drain without a paddle.
I would like to say to those who are complaining about Advanced Career Training.Your are unprofessional, ghetto and rude.If you feel that way about the school, you should have left now you have to pay back the money you don't have from working at Mcdonalds or some gas station LOL!!!. Or maybe you don't have a High School Diploma LOL!!!. Stop downing the school thats senting people on JOBS to help you and your family please grow up and become SUCCESSFUL like ACT students.
I am a recent graduate for ACT. and I agree with Jessica. Myself, Jessica and many others who has graduated from that school are still looking for work in the field that we went to school for. And speaking from experience, after I graduate I went back to the career couseling center and requested the help that they said they would provide. And guess what, they were useless. The only good thing about that school was my teacher. Mrs. Cunningham. She was very helpful in telling us the real deal. She even encouraged her students to go into business for themselves. But she wasnt the only teacher that deserves A++++. I just cant remember their names at the present. ACT is the worst school I have ever been to. In fact they recently changed their name because of all the controversy concerning them.....so long story short; knowledge=success. I have a high school diploma, and a very nice job and by the time i realize the school was a scam it was to late to drop it. I am not ghetto, unprofesional or rude in the slightest. Now I am ready this post in 2010, and I graduated in 2009. As you can see the school hasnt changed and it probably wont. So my advice to people who actually want to see their schooling pay off, go to FCCJ.
