Based on previous reviews at this site, I used Hughes to replace a failed compressor on my 2000 Grand Marquis.
I am very happy that I did. This place is owner operated.
I received a flat rate estimate up front, the work was done in under three hours and he gave me a 12 month or 12, 000 mile guarantee.
Bring your check book though. No credit or debit cards.
Fair, and fast service. I would give this shop a 5 stars. I trusted the one and only review I read and was glad I did.
I had a very good experience with Hughes Auto Air.
My ac stopped working and I took my car to a nationally known garage and auto parts store. I got an estimate of about $1200 to repair the ac. Ouch. They wanted to replace every part of the system.
I decided to get another estimate this time from a small local place that has been around for a long time. This guy knows ac he trace the problem and called me that to repair the ac it would be either $75 or $140.
I just assumed I would be paying to higher amount.
The bill was $75. He called me with the estimate when he promised. Then he repaired and finished the car when promised. He seemed to be a no nonsense person and a man of few words. Oh and he was busy. And he was the only guy there.
When it comes to getting your car repaired today it is just too scary. A mechanic could almost charge any amount. There doesn't seem to be much honesty in the repair business these days.
I was floored with Hughes Auto Air's honesty in regards to my repair. I had just kind of accepted that I would be robbed legally.
I recommend them highly. If I have any more ac problems I would go there in a heartbeat. I think you can trust them to honest with you. And that whatever the amount you get charged it would be a fair price.
