We have been visitors to St. George Island for 14 years and the Blue Parrot is always first on our list of restaurants to visit. I have to say that the last few years have proven more disappointing than rewarding. The most obvious pluses of going are the view and the outdoor dining. Who doesn't love sitting right on the beach overlooking the gulf and the waves? The food is really quite mediocre with most every option being fried. We typically order the crab claws basket appetizer and the grouper sandwiches, and I will say the sandwich size has gotten smaller over the years while the price has steadily increased. The service is adequate, but rarely do we get someone extremely overly joyful or even happy to be serving tables. Though I will admit we usually receive our food in a reasonable amount of time, unless the restaurant is really busy. All in all, we visit the Blue Parrot more out of tradition than for its food value...that and the amazing views.

Probably our favorite place to eat on the beach. There is not a ton of dining choices on the island unless you really like oysters. My family really likes this plave. The food is good for th price, the best thing about the place is the atmosphere. You are almost eating on the beach. Once you get your food you will want to slow down and enjoy your meal and the view. Get there early because a long wait can occur if you get there at the wrong time.
