Rude... and thats just on the phone: Just wanted to let everyone know that I called over there and asked if they were open today, they said "yes". Then I asked whats happening tonight and I was told..."NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING" So ya'll know I will NEVER spend my money there... It's Sunday, Sept 24th, 2006 @ 10:10pm
Lived for it: Back when I visited Tally this past summer I went to Jazz night every Monday night. I don't think the previous rating quite does it justice, because it fails to mention the outrageous fun you'll have dancing. Jazz night is all about the music, and with so many great local musicians (because Florida State really is a top-notch music school) the music is fantastic at a very low price. The improv is the best. My friends and I would have a few beers and just have the time of our lives dancing like fools up in front of the stage. No one is gonna care, and you can really connect with the musicians as they improv while you dance to their music. The music is the best later at night, at around 10 or 10:30 when it really starts to crank up. There is an atmosphere at this place that is simply an extreme rarity. It is definitely the place to be on Jazz Night (which is what this review is about). If your a guy, girls love this place, and if your bold you can just drag them onto the dance floor and make fools of yourselves. If your a girl, you'll be able to find a guy easily as long as you don't just stick to a pool table. I highly suggest going, particularly with a group of good friends. Pregame first and save money on the bar, though, as well as its line. As the title states, I basically lived for Jazz Night for the few weeks I was back in town this past summer. Just go there determined to make a fool out of yourself, and you'll see just how much fun the place can be.
