There are two types of people at No Name:
1) Hip for PC twenty/thirty-somethings that travel in packs.
2) Lone drinkers.
Although I suggest drinking there with friends you can still (temporarily) drink your troubles away with ease. The loners tend to stay away from the groups because they're my type of drunks; people who go just to drink. The dim, cluttered and half-way kitschy decor is nice and the plankwood along with the 70s and 80s music makes a nice atmosphere. The music alone gives the place a welcoming retro vibe you can't find anywhere else in PC.
No Name is usually a meeting point for a lot of people to grab a few early drinks and go elsewhere since its right at the mouth of the bridge. Due to the locale its usually passed up by tourists who just want to go to La Vela and Spinnaker so the noisy crowd isn't likely to make an appearance. The location is ideal since you have the choice of either venturing out to the beach or sampling Panama City proper where theres a ton of underrated bars and restaurants that are priced far better than the beach.
Make sure you stop by early since No Name tends to die down after midnight with only a handful of lone drinkers left and at most a group or two are left by then.
The porch area overlooks the industrial side of the bay but its still a nice view. The gulf is tranquil there and a pleasant breeze is the usual. The downside is the lack of attention you'll get from the waitstaff if you mark your territory outside. Be prepared to wait an extra 5-10 minutes longer than inside the bar.
All in all its worth a visit if you're in PC and want to go to a place with a little local flavor and get a feel of PC before the condo explosion and influx of tourists and snowbirds. Call taxis an hour in advance and don't even think about driving after you've only had a couple. The cops are always close by monitoring the bridge.
