Terrible, terrible experiences. The first time I visited, they sent me home with someone else's laundry mixed in with mine. I made a special trip back to return it. Anyone can make a mistake, I thought.
But I went back a second time to have five cotton men's shirts pressed because we were leaving town for a job interview and wanted professional pressing. I asked to have them pressed only with heavy starch. The woman behind the counter advised that I could pay less and get better starch results to have them washed and rinsed with a starch solution than to have them pressed only. I told her I had already washed them but as long as they were not dry cleaning them, okay, do it that way.
When I came in to pick them up, they were not starched, they were horribly creased all up and down the backs of the shirts as if they were not laid flat on the press, the sleeves were not pressed, and three of the shirts had markings on them, one stained on the sleeve and the other two identical black markings. The woman behind the counter indicated that this was a "horrible job" and they looked like they had hot iron marks on them. I asked to send them back and she was in complete agreement. She apologized and I told her it was not her fault.
I came back the next day and they were improved but still had creases all down the backs of the shirts and the black marks were still there. Thankfully the stains were gone on the one shirt. The woman behind the counter again said that this was a bad job. I said I could not see paying for these when they did such bad work. She said that [he] offered to give me a 20% discount, but this was a really bad job. I said I don't think I should pay at all for a job badly done. She called the person named Dennis, talked to him for a while and gave me the phone. He tried to convince me that the pockets on the shirt couldn't be ironed flat. I told him the pockets were not in question and proceeded to tell him all that was wrong with the shirts. He said he couldn't give me the shirts for no charge. I reiterated that he did not do the job correctly, I wasn't going to pay. Then I just said, "You can call me later". I have a plane to catch in the morning. I have to go home and wash and iron these shirts AGAIN and don't have time for this. I wasn't paying for a job not done.
I left the store..... and he called the police .....for a $9 ticket less an offered 20% for a job that he did not do satisfactorily and perhaps ruined two of the shirts on top of that. The police contacted me and told me that he was going to press charges if I didn't pay. Then he told the police that I hassled the woman behind the counter. I cannot believe she said that. We did nothing but discuss in agreement how badly the work had been done.
