User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsMy review is partly in response to the contributor who was obviously offended by the radio commercial for Shuckums. While everyone has a right to their opinion, it is unfair to criticize a restaurant that one has never been to. "Shuck" is not a curse word. One shucks corn or oysters. Therefore to be offended by "unshucking" one must have a preconceived idea in their own mind of what that might mean to them. Shuckums Oyster Pub is a wonderful restaurant that is family owned and operated and is proud to serve both local families as well as those who come to the beach on vacation. The food is amazing, the prices are very fair and the satisfaction of every customer is priority to Mack and the entire Shuckums gang.
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI have not been here, and I hope never to go. Mack's advertising has been polluting the airways of Bay County for months. "Unschuking Believable", "Fresh Guff Shrimp", etc., etc... Blah, Blah, Blah. These radio ads make my skin crawl every time they come on, and this is the best place I can think of to gripe about them.

We ate there on Thursday. It was terrible. There was a long wait. (I guess the advertisements pay off) The shrimp were the kind you buy at your local grocery store in the freezer. They don't offer steamed oysters...only the ones with so many things added you're not sure it's even an oyster. The slaw was yuck! Also, the hushpuppies were terrible. In fact, the only good things we ordered were the Jalapeno Poppers and my brother said the crab bisque was pretty good.

Shuckums does offer steamed oysters. It is listed on their oyster menu. The shrimp is definitely not store bought. The long wait is because so many people do love it including me.

It's A great place to eat..Salty hasn't even been there and griping.Mack is one of the best [people you can find..Yea..Alton said that.How does a person write a bad review on A restaurant they have never been to before?One of the first places I went to when I moved here 11 years ago, and still one of my favorites.The whole crew there are a pleasant bunch, unlike the person writing the original review here..
I will say that since my original posting, the advertising has been toned down quite a bit. Maybe the roar of the crowd rang true in the right place.... Maybe just a random coincidence. I still have not been so I can't vouch for the food.
