It was a nice meal with a great atmosphere. The only negative was the price. It was expensive. The food wasn't quite worth the money, but the total experience made up for it. Getting a table with a good view of the fishing boats coming in is a must.
I will be going back to Captain Anderson's, but maybe just ordering some shrimp instead on a platter with everything. Overall it was an excellent dining choice.
My family and I took a trip down to Panama City Beach a week ago and we went out to eat one night, so my mom decided to eat at Captain Anderson's because she loves the crab cakes, but everyone else hated it and the night after we ate their everybody got food poisoning. The only thing we thought was good was the desert.
The food and location are both good. Capt. Anderson's is a tourist place which means the price will be higher than deserved. A family of four with three adult entrees, one child's entree, two bar drinks, and no dessert will easily run $120 - $140. We had very good service so I/you'll need to add an extra $25. Although we didn't feel rushed, they tend to keep people moving. It's not a place where you go to eat a slow meal.
There is also a little gift shop where you can buy various items, including locally created jewlery, shirts, nic-nacks, and take home desserts.
