My wife and I ate at this hash house once(once too many). The steaks were covered in charcoal from a really dirty grill service is very slow. The crowd is very much a blue-hair type crowd(my wife and I are in our mid forties and we felt like youngsters here). Save your money and avoid this place like the plague. You can see where the jockey whipped the hell out of that piece of meat they called steaks(must of came in last place in it's last race).
Hate to say it but your money would be better spent at What-a-burger....Yuck
An Expensive Steak that didn't Taste Expensive: I attended a retirement ceremony for a friend's friend at the Angus, so this review may be a bit skewed. It was a group dinner in a special section of the eatery, but we were able to order from the full menu.
The Angus seems to have tremendous potential. I, of course, had to order a steak at such an establishment. I was not so much disappointed as I was not awed by the cut, taste, and preparation of the meat. It was much too on the rare side for a "medium" steak, and the seasoning seemed "off." The service was good, but I felt rushed by the staff since the place closes at 9 pm during the week.
For me it's worth another try, but only one more. At their prices, I need to be just blown away by the food to keep coming back. "The Outback" is just physically not that far away!
Best Steak in Pensacola: The wine selecting is average. The calamari and flambéed cheese are fantastic. The Steak could be cut with a fork and potato were mouth watering. The dessert tray did not have anything that I was interested in..
