A Classic Hole in Wall: The Handle Bar has a rich history - from Black Flag and REM in the late 70s, to Nirvana and others, this place is not afraid to gamble on entertainment. The dark and dingy nastiness that was once prevalent is long gone. A Hurricane related fire gutted the place, and Jimmy Lamar's leadership has restored the place beautifully. The Handle Bar retains its dark and primitive tradition while embracing a Southern warmth. Concrete floors meld with beautiful brick, and a New Orleans style courtyard give The Handle Bar and atmosphere like no other. From business suit, to rastafarian, to body artists, and junior leaguers (usually deep in disguise), this place has been a local favorite for decades and a favorite visiting spot for locals who have moved away. Draft and import beers, people watching, and live on-the-edge music. A must for the motivated bar hopper. You may just close it down. Easy Cab and hotel access, some in walking distance. No longer a dump - its a one-of-a-kind dive, in downtown Pensacola.

Live Music, and beer: Cool place, and Jen is the best bartender there.
