Look elsewhere! This shop could care less about their reputation or their business. I've used J's for over 20 years but they are under new ownership. I placed an order weeks in advance for a large party. I paid in advance, but when my husband went to pick up the order, half of it was not there and they said that they didn't have the ingrediants to amake it. Excuse me? Why did I pay them in advance? Then...they didn't want to give a refund.
They don't care that they've lost another customer!

I don't know if things have changed since I was an employee there, but if they haven't, you may want to consider another bakery. This place is FILTHY! There is at least a half-inch of crud on the floor in any given spot in the back kitchen, and the cleaning routine is spotty at best. I've worked in several bakeries in the area in my life, and none were ever close to this level of dirtiness. Having seen what was there, I'd never buy any of their baked goods.

Three generations of my family have been going to J's Bakery for cookies, pastries, rolls, but above all else birthday cakes for years!
WE WILL NOT BE BACK.
This tradition ended Christmas Eve morning when we arrived at J's to pick up my 2 year olds birthday cake and they were unable to find the cake, the order, or to offer an APOLOGY or any type of compensation for their gross mistake. This is after my mother had actually gone to the bakery and placed the order in- person and discussed at length the type of cake and size we needed. We were forced to celebrate my two year olds birthday (on Christmas Day) without a cake because J's Bakery lost the order form and failed miserably to provide us with any other cake or cupcakes to make up for THEIR mistake. The employees did not care at all about my predicament as I calmly explained to three different employees my situation BEFORE I erupted into rage because of their lack of regard for a birthday cake for my 2 year old. We will never be back and I suggest others who do attempt to order from this bakery always call and double check that your order actually got made because the employees really don’t care and you may be stuck without your cake like I was!!!!
