Sea Oats Motel

I would like to let everyone know that we had our best vacation ever staying at the Sea Oats Motel. It is not the Hilton but we did not want that anyway. We wanted to be comfortable. It is very laid back and the view is wonderful. We stayed in our swimsuits for the first 3 days no fancy lobby to have to walk through so people can stare at you. You just open the rear door to your room and you are there. The room was simple and clean, having the kitchenette was great saves a lot of money on eating out. The people are very nice. You turn your towels daily to the office, that's good because you don't have to worry about anyone knocking on your door. We had 2 children with us,7 and 9 yrs. old they had the time of their lifes. You will meet people fom everywhere and even make new friends like we did. You never have to worry about leaving any of your beach stuff outside. You can rent your chairs and umbrella first thing in the mornings. We just had a wonderful time and it sure was easy on our pocket book.

Have be visiting the Sea Oats for many years. Our last trip was great. It was slacking on updates because it was going to be closed but since they've decided to stay open have done some great things to the place. We noticed they have re-done their pool, and updated all the rooms. Its just a nice relaxing place to unwind. Its located away from all the hustle and bussel right on the beach. We love it because there is no where else in Destin like it. Understand it is a Motel not a Hotel. If your looking to be waited on and have a fancy room, this is not the place for you. But if its simple relaxation directly on the beach with out spending a fortune you will understand the beauty of this place. There is no maid service, but we enjoyed the privacy. We even had a kitchen which saved us money and allowed for most our meals to be eaten right out the back door on the beach ;) Its also great for the kids they can just run up and down the stairs to the beach. This trip we took advantage of the beach service and had an umbrella and chairs waiting on us everyday along the shoreline. I cant wait to go back!
