I've never bene a huge fan of thia food. I usually prefer japanese, vietnamese.. even korean. I tried thai a few times and found it too sweet. I'm guessing I didn't order well. I went to Siam Thai and was very pleased to find a buffet, even though it was small, because I could try a few more things. The food was good. I really liked the coconut soup and curry dishes. I love the tapioca dessert. I was pleasantly surprised.
Coming from Houston where there is a vast amount of different Asian restaurants, and Thai food is on the top list. My family and I visited Siam Thai and were suaded by the advertisment on the billboard that was posted down the street from our hotel and from the phone book, we said, "ohh yeah!" Siam Thai is a quaint resturant that shares an car parts warehouse attached to the building. We had a cute waitressed that smiled on cue as she took our drink order and refilled our drinks. She was so cute my father who spoke some thai tried to hook my younger brother up and have her as our new in law....but that's another review in "rate how my parents can be" review. Everything that was offered was way TOO salty that overpowered the flavors and texture of the food. They did not offer as much as they had advertised on the phone book menu. They did one thing right, they mastered making a peanut sauce to dip with VIETNAMESE spring rolls. Because there is not a star for less than average but not quite poor, I listed as average. Soo if you are looking for not so average and more than poor food to eat then Siam Thai is your place to be. Be warned it's pretty pricy for your "average" Thai buffet.
My favorite restaurant in Florida and possibly even in the United States without a doubt. Best Peanut sauce, nice selection of vegetarian dishes (some of the best tasting) and eat all you can.
