The hubby and I LOVE Bamboo Willie's!!! We live exactly 97 miles from B.W.'s and sneak down every chance we can. We have been many times over the last several year's and always enjoy it. The bands are great. Great atmosphere. The daquiri bar is impressive. Our favorite is the Tropical Ting($6 or add a shot of rum for $2 more, YUM) Just ask for a taste of any of the daquiri mixes and they are happy to let you sample. We recently took friends down to check the place out and they had a great time also. It of coursed helped that it was the Saturday for the 2009 Bikini Contest. We were down a few Sunday's ago for the Crawfish Festival and it was fantastic.($6 for a small serving and $15 for a large flat of crawfish which included plenty potatos, corn, mushrooms and onions) Quitewater Beach is right there and great for the kids with gentle waves. Our last trip there was a local radio station set up with a petting zoo and crawfish 'races'. My 16 year old and her friend sang karoke at the 'shell' stage and had a blast. I felt quite safe to let them wonder about on their own and shop at all the boutiques. We'll be back and soon!!!
Sunday's Best Location for Family FUN!: Excellent hang out for the entire family on Sunday afternoons! Enjoy a frozen drink while sitting on "Mama Beach" and listening to the great live music. The kids love the calm water and there are even great specials and crawfish hot from the boil... the best past time in the world and can't wait until next summer to get back home!
