On 10/5/09, my wife and I walked there from our hotel for our evening meal. It was an outside atmosphere, the waitress was nice, and the huge shrimp dinner that we split, was just great. The beer and mixed drinks were also tasty. Great place to relax after a hard day at the beach.
just visited pensacola beach and ate at flounders. had the flounder which was great, and enjoyed the live band. service was good too, check it out.
Opinion of a local:
Below average food in general. I have consistantly had spotty service here, where the entree comes out before the salad, with half-hearted apologies when it does. They will throw the most delicious key lime pie at you as a consolation for your troubles, which is almost worth the gamble.
Above average brunch menu, most items being $10 on the brunch menu with $6 bottomless champagne and other drink specials. Great musician usually playing on Sunday as well.
FANTASTIC atmosphere. This is going to be the best place on the beach to get a true beachy experience. Pull up your boat, play some volleyball, listen to some tunes.
If you've already accepted the fact that you are going to pay more for memorabilia and food because you're on vacation, than I'd say go ahead and plan to stop by for a drink and take a look at the menu.
