Dr. Rockdapuss has probably never been there because they don't serve mixed drinks and who cares if the kitchen employees were smoking as long as they wash their hands. At least they had the decency to smoke around back. The fact that he/she reported it to a manager makes me question the use of 'rock' in his/her name. Combine that with the fact you called someone emo while whining and your review holds no merit. The food is always good, the service and live music is hit or miss, you normally don't run into the spill over from the Swamp (thank God), and it's privately owned and operated. Support local business! Blue moon burgers are the way to go.
I went here the other day when the swamp was too crowded. One look at our waitress and I knew we were in trouble. I think her name was Roxie or something. She looked like on of the emo kids you see hanging around hot topic in the ghetto part of the mall.
I don't know why gainesville has so many drug addicts, but it really affects the quallity of food service. The food was over priced and didn't have basic staples hat every respectable restaurant should have. Chicken quesadilla? Nope. Pizza? Nope. Bonelss Buffalo Wings? Nope.
Luckily it was 2 4 1 mixed drinks so my friend and I got a bunch of strawberry daquiris. The big screen tv wasn't a flat screen, but it was ok.
The desserts were great, but then I saw some of the kitchen staff smoking around back and I lost my appetite.
When I tried to report the smokers to the manager, they acted like it was none of my business! That's the problem with all these hippy places in gainesville, they have no respect for theire customers. Also the place is called cafe gardns, but there aren't really gardens there.
Not as bad as the top, but no applebees.
This place is in a great location, but the prices have sky-rocketed recently and I know food costs are up, but reduce portions or something. The veggie burger is now $11!!! Service is in and out and the food is decent. Just wish they paid a little more attentionl.

i love how you put applebees as your example of fine dining.. ha! but believe it or not there are people who take smoke breaks at work. i've never heard the food court at the mall called the "ghetto" part. and the fact that your waitress was named roxie should have nothing at all to do with your food! the manager acted that way because it ISNT YOUR BUSINESS if the cooks smoke on their breaks! there are also no apples or bees near applebees, so maybe they ought to change their name, huh?
