All I can say about this place is that every time I drive by it, my wife and I want to stop in. They have wonderful food. The sauteed gator is a magnificent choice, but you'll need help eating it. It's one of the larger appetizers. The Cajun Angels are awesome too. I don't think I ever ate there and was displeased with the food or service. The service is great and on the spot and actually remember you when you come in. An cool spot for the locals to come and eat as well as the out-of-towners. I love it. If I could give it 6 stars I would. I'm actually on the way out the door right now to take the wife out. Happy Eatings!
East Bay Crab House (Formerly Toby's) is great. I used to live about 2 miles from there and went nearly every week. Very laid back but great service and food. Checker board table cloths with original artwork surrounds the walls and are for sale. The bar has a huge fish tank, but there is nothing fancy about this place.
I'd always get the same thing; fried catfish and shrimp. Comes with hushpuppies and two sides for about $12. Never tried breakfast there but it was prepared by "Hazel"; apparently a woman who has been there forever.
Just a nice place to lay back and relax with a good meal. Can't say enough about it. It is a local joint so most likely you may be one of only a few out-of-towners, which is fine with everyone. People in Navarre are very welcoming and if you want to see the best beach in the U.S. keep going toward Pensacola a mile or so and turn left onto the bridge and either go straight and park, or turn right at the stop sign and marvel at the sugar white dunes on both sides of the road.
I live in Jacksonville now, but two things I miss about Navarre is Toby's and the beach! The one thing I miss about Mary Esther is Hideaway Pizza - got to try that too; best pizza in the world!
great place: this is the place that us locals eat on a regular basis. the food is great and the staff is warm and friendly. not only is the seafood great but their steaks and prime rib are excellent. the last time we were there my wife had the prime rib and i had a ribeye and both were great. this is the only place ot eat in navarre.

Never tried the steaks and now I don't live there anymore as you can see by my post above. I used to go to Cowboys up the street next to the bridge, but I heard it was destroyed by a hurricane. They weren't the best though and would rather go to Destin or Pensacola to Outback. Tobys was my favorite place though and so close to my house. It never occured to me to try their beef, because I liked their seafood too much I guess. I did buy three paintings there and it reminds me of being there every time I look at them. Funny thing is I think I always got the same booth every time I went there. Most of the time they would take me there, or I would ask for it. It felt like home and such a comfortable place to be. The servers are friendly and there's just nothing not to like about this little Navarre jewel.
