I had a very welcoming experience at Jays. The staff was friendly and made me feel at ease. Thank you to Joann for all her help. She took an interest in our wedding and made my decision easy. We will be coming back this winter to order bridesmaids and tuxedos. I would recommend the shop to others.
My experience was relaxed and made the choice so easy. They know what their doing and helped me pick out the most beautiful gown and veil I've ever seen. They were so good at helping me narrow down what I liked and what I didn't which helped the process go quickly and smoothly.
They didn't rush me though. They knew when I wanted to spend more time in one dress and let me stand and look for a moment.
I thought I was going to need to come back and try on more dresses several more times but I didn't...and I was so happy with my dress.
Thanks so much for your help!
I have now been to several wedding dress stores where I received great customer service and the people were very friendly. Neither was true about Jay's Bridal. I am getting married in a different city but took my friend to try and potential bridesmaids dresses that I would be ordering from a different store. We asked a woman working there to please take my friends measurements and she said it would be FIFTEEN DOLLARS. Seriously!?!?! I recognize we were not buying the dress there, but had they not been so ridiculous about taking 3 simple measurements, I might have bought my shoes or jewelery. Not only did I think it was ridiculous of them to charge for such a simple service, but I could not believe that I saw girls trying on wedding gowns with ZERO assistance. When I tried on gowns, I had at least one if not two people helping me from the stores. I cannot even imagine trying to get in to a gown without help, and I would want someone working at the store to be there and tell me what changes could be made to the dresses. Customer service at this store was SOOOOOOOO bad. Let me recommend you go to Solutions in Gainesville instead; they were more than helpful when my friend looked at the bridesmaids dresses and also asked me about accessories I might need for my wedding. They were attentive and caring, unlike Jay's.

I know from my experience that the $15.00 fee can be used as a credit toward the purchase of anything in the store. And I know Jay's welcomes walk-ins, which would account for the ladies you saw trying on wedding gowns on their own. And remember too that January is the busiest time of year for bridal salons - especially one that takes walk-ins. =)
