We go here pretty regularly for lunch. I typically order the BBQ sandwich, not dressed. It comes with slaw and pickles if you don't ask for it without.
There are a thousand ways to do BBQ, and everyone thinks their's is the best. I personally think this BBQ is a little above average, but I've had much better at other places in the area.
The sweet potato fries are outstanding!!! Not too crazy about any of the other sides though.
On the days I don't get the sandwich, I'll get the chili and a side salad. The chili is great, you can get a large serving in a sour dough bread bowl or not...although the bowl goes for a whopping $5.99 which is simply ridiculous. I'll usually order a cup instead, which is plenty and several dollars less.
They have a specialty dessert called pig puddin'...again, not really something to write home about, but different, rich and will satisfy any sweet tooth.
Staff is very nice and courteous.
We won't go back. There wasn't anything that we were really thrilled about here. We got a sampler which was ridiculously HUGE! May be that's why it was voted best in one of the papers - large serving sizes. But we're prefer quality over quantity. Much of the meat was too dry. The sauce was mediocre. The corn was terribly over cooked. The onion rings were good. The service was ok.
Slow service but very interesting and unique bbq. very good try the bbq baked potato and the friend green tomato's
